Introduction
I’m Gabrielle Iwaskow, a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) working at the Design Your Life Centre in Toronto. In this workshop we are going to be talking about and moving through a combo mindfulness practice of grounding and writing.
Our writing exercise is going to be focused on reclaiming our energy. Energy is often a fitness focus. Energy is also a mental and emotional entity. We can be physically capable, however our mental and emotional energy may not be there. Our intention here is to go through this guided practice together to improve and reclaim our mental and emotional energy.
Reclaim means to make your own, make it yours. When it’s ours, we tend to do things with purpose, we are more aware, alert, and we have a higher connection to our actions. With this higher sense of connection, we tend to have more fulfillment. This connection helps us to build momentum and we achieve higher results than we ever thought possible.
Research shows us that those who write out their thoughts for three consecutive days are more effective in communication about the topic and how they are feeling. Studies show us that a consistent journaling practice is a cathartic experience that leaves the mind feeling lighter and more clear.
In the next part I’m going to bring us through a guided practice to improve our mental and emotional energy. All you need is yourself and a quite space.
Let’s get started.
